get involved.

There are countless ways for you to get involved with Azalea. We’re absolutely sure that there is something you can do to make your difference in seeing an end to sex trafficking.

We are confident that there should be local solutions to local problems, and albeit that sex trafficking is a global problem, it is one which exists on our very doorstep, particularly with the proximity of Luton Airport.

Whether you love to bake or can cook; you might have a small group who will come together to pray for our work or you’d like to receive our Prayer Net; maybe you want to support on the frontline, or give administrative support; you might even want to take on incredible fundraising challenges or give to us regularly.
We would love you to get involved, to join our movement, and join our family. So, why not grab yourself a cuppa, and spend a little bit of your time browsing through the website to decide how you’d like to get involved.

clothes store.

PRE-LOVED, CLEAN & WEARABLE.

Have you had a clear out and are wondering if the women in Encompass could make use of the clothes you no longer want?

Our clothing store is an essential for the women who are caught up commercial sexual exploitation. Many are homeless and only have the clothes they stand up in, having had the few possessions they had stolen from them. For women who have been rescued during a sex trafficking warrant they are often dressed in very little, and giving them clothes is a demonstration of care and dignity at a traumatic time. The clothes are displayed on rails and the women can choose what they need for themselves.

We do not currently have a great deal of storage space, so please be thoughtful about what you donate.

We’re glad to take seasonally appropriate women’s clothes that are clean and in good condition, more the clothes that you no longer want in your wardrobe but are still very wearable. Anything ripped or worn out doesn’t really express our love for the women or how valued they are, so if you could take items like that to a textile bank instead, it will help us a great deal.

The women are often very slim, so we’d be really happy if you have pre-loved clothes to give us which are size 4-12 or older aged teenage clothes ages 15-16.

We do not take men’s clothes, children’s clothes, underwear, scarves or belts, but anything else from pyjamas to dressing gowns, t-shirts to jumpers, jeans to skirts, coats to raincoats, shoes to boots is ideal.

Please donate clothes directly to 3A Upper George Street, or get in touch with us on 01582 733200 if you have any questions or are unable to bring your donations in.

TOILETRIES &

HOME COOKED MEALS.

toiletries

Every birthday and Christmas, you open up your present from Aunty Elsie and there it is, your “favourite” moisturiser, the one you mentioned you liked way back in 1987 and you’ve been gifted it ever since. The question is what can you do with so many pots of cream? If this is you, or even if it isn’t, you may just want to gift something.

Your donation will most certainly bring a little of life’s goodness to the women in Encompass.

Products donated are either given in care packs for the women to use in their accommodation, hospital, or put into baskets in the shower rooms at Encompass for them to choose for themselves when they go to freshen up.

Ideally, these products would be new and unused, or at least barely used, and we’re not able to take anything which is alcohol-based, aerosols, bath salts, or anything sharp like nail scissors, nail clippers or metal nail files.

HOME COOKED MEALS.

Home cooked meals are prepared by our kind and generous team of volunteers, frozen into individual portions and then re-heated for the women at Drop-in. If you would like to cook meals for the women, please get in touch with Gus Scrace, our Operations Manager, or complete the on-line form on the Volunteer page.

Your donation to our Food Bank will make all the difference to the women in Encompass, alongside many other vulnerable women in Luton who need it. Many of them are living in poverty and unable to buy themselves food.
