FANCY A GET-TOGETHER?

You don’t need an excuse. But if you do, here’s a great one…

Whether it’s gathering a few neighbours at your kitchen table over a pot of tea and a slice of cake, catching up with a friend at that fabulous coffee shop on the High Street or a large house party with drinks and nibbles, spending time with people is a real joy. Even our virtual events bring us the connection we need to enjoy life.

Getting together is at the heart of Azalea’s work with those caught in sex trafficking.

Guests in Encompass are encouraged to spend time connecting with the Frontline team, whether it is with a befriender, or in the group setting of Flourish. Connections which are unlike any others they have experienced, are safe and reliable, supportive and compassionate. These trusted relationships facilitate the guests towards finding a life beyond sex trafficking, giving them a sense of their own worth and that they are deserving of being treated well.

Often, guests are taken to their favourite cafe. Nadia* loves a Caramel Latte and Esme always chooses a Hot Chocolate with whipped cream. In the past, the guests have only ever been taken out for a treat when being coerced and groomed by perpetrators. The Encompass team endeavour to be an example to the guests that there are people in the world who want nothing from them, and treat them, simply because they deserve it.

We would love you to host a GET-TOGETHER for Azalea. Just as you would ordinarily, but with the purpose of sharing something about our thriving Luton based charity. In it’s simplest this means asking the question “have your heard about Azalea?”, having some flyers available to hand out and signposting people to this website. And as you chat about Azalea, encouraging your guests to sign up to receive our communications and maybe make a donation to the value of a Caramel Latte or Hot Chocolate with whipped cream!

When you sign up to host a GET-TOGETHER you’ll receive an email with some helpful hints on running your GET-TOGETHER. We really do think that it’s a great way of spreading the word about Azalea and building awareness of the work we do and the plight of those caught in sex trafficking. We’re sure you’ll have an enjoyable and fun time while making your difference to this seemingly insurmountable global issue.
